OKM Featured in Tatort Frankfurt: A Special Moment for the Company
An Icon of German Television
Tatort is one of the most well-known and long-standing television formats in Germany. For over 50 years, it has been a fixed part of German culture, regularly reaching millions of viewers and shaping the country’s crime storytelling landscape. Being featured in Tatort therefore carries a special significance. It is not just another TV appearance, but participation in a format that is deeply rooted in German society.
In the Frankfurt episode “Licht”, a scene required the realistic scanning of an area behind a wall. To ensure technical credibility, the production team contacted OKM Detectors for support. For this purpose, the OKM Delta Ranger was used. The goal was not to exaggerate technology, but to present a believable and authentic representation of detection work within the storyline.
Technology Meets Television
Integrating real detection technology into a television production requires careful coordination. Together with the film team, OKM ensured that the handling of the device and the scanning process appeared realistic and understandable to viewers. This collaboration highlights how modern technology can support storytelling while maintaining a grounded and credible presentation.
A Moment of Recognition for OKM
For OKM, being part of such a renowned TV format is a clear sign of recognition. It reflects the growing visibility of detection technology and its relevance beyond traditional applications such as treasure hunting, archaeology or engineering. At the same time, it shows that realistic technical solutions are increasingly valued in film and media production.
Young Talent in Focus
A notable aspect of this collaboration was the involvement of Henning Hundt, OKM’s dual student. His participation highlights how young professionals at OKM are given the opportunity to take part in real projects beyond day-to-day operations. Being involved in a national TV production like Tatort reflects the practical, hands-on approach that defines OKM’s training philosophy. It also shows the level of trust placed in young talent, allowing them to contribute to meaningful and visible projects from an early stage.
